Wisdom From The Wheel: Birthright to Chronic Disease Cure!

Updated: Feb 24, 2022

As-Salaam Alaikum Family!

The book, How To Eat To Live (HTETL) is not only a treatise on diet and lifestyle, it is a document of your birthrights.

1. You have a birthright to a life supported by nutritious whole food not contaminated with the poisons of processing.

2. You have a birthright to a cure for chronic disease without the residual affects of harmful medications or treatments.

3. You have a birthright to a long healthful life that includes living among your descendants for a decade of generations.

4. You have a birthright to a long healthful life so that you can realize your purpose and benefit from your gifts and talents.

5. You have a birthright and responsibility to control the means of producing food for your yourself, your family and your community.

We were born into this world with rights granted by Allah (God), and similar to the story of Esau and his twin brother Jacob in the Bible, we, "the first-born" were tricked out of our birthright and made to suffer the physical pain and mental anguish of chronic disease, early death and a legacy of suffering that is passed on to our descendants. We can break the cycle of pain and suffering if we would only follow the restrictive dietary instructions also found in HTETL.

I want to make this absolutely clear, that up until now there were very few physicians who used the word "reversible" and more rarely, the word, "cure" when giving a prognosis about a chronic disease. The reason according to physicians is most physicians are trained to treat the symptoms which keep you on medications that may not work or worse, may increase the severity of the disease or condition.

Today in 2020, there are physicians who say they can reverse many chronic diseases and conditions with fasting, eating fewer meals and more nutritious food as treatment for diabetes type II, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, kidney disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, erectile dysfunction and even Alzheimer's disease. I applaud these physicians for the work that they have done in trying to treat the cause of a disease versus the symptoms; however, it is my belief that these physicians have only caught up to The Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad about disease cure. He wrote, "fasting is a greater cure of our ills--both mental and physical -- than all of the drugs of the earth combined...The fact that fasting is the cure for 90% of our ills is known by the medical scientists, but they do not teach you that". HTETL Volume I, page 19 - 20.

In the 1920s, physicians treated epilepsy with fasting and a ketogenic diet, but once medications for the condition were developed, fasting and the diet ceased to be used as treatments. Many doctors write and speak of their successes with fasting and reducing the number of times their patients eat during the day for conditions such as insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is said to be the cause of or is strongly associated with all the conditions listed above to include Alzheimer's disease. Insulin resistance is not the only condition implicated in Alzheimer's disease. Other causes according to the experts are improper diet, toxins from chemicals, molds, fungi and even infection from oral bacteria. Part of the treatment is to deal with the direct cause.

Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body's cells "refuse to allow" the insulin produced by the pancreas to enter the cell. This usually happens as the result of eating too much of the wrong food, too often for too many years. If this continues, insulin resistance can lead to type II diabetes and becomes associated with other chronic diseases.

Coaching Tips:

1. Insulin resistance usually occurs decades before the diagnosis of diabetes is made. You may think you are just fine with a random blood sugar of 88mg/dl at age 20 (when you were strong, thin and active) and 90 mg/dl at age 40 (after you have gained 40 extra pounds, a lot of belly fat, eat anything you want more than 3 times a day and getting very little physical activity), but unless your rock star-pancreas gets some well deserved rest and relaxation, your next blood sugar could be 140mg/dl - diabetes.

2. Insulin is also a fat-storage hormone and can lead to obesity. 3. It is estimated that1/3 of American adults are insulin resistant and are at risk for not only diabetes type II, but other chronic diseases as well.

4. Eating is more than fulfilling the body's need for energy. Other motivations could be at play here, such as seeking comfort from stress/anxiety; issues of self-esteem, body image and issues involving quality of life may also affect eating.

5. Self-reflection: If you believe you have problems around eating food, reflect on what you think and feel when you eat other than your regular meal times? What are your values around food? What motivates you to eat when you are not hungry?
